MJ Al - Hannah W

Created by Hannah 2 years ago

I met Al through my time at MJ Media from joining in 2008-2016.  As a first hello - I remember visiting Total Media's offices for some intro training in TV with Al, and being in awe of what felt like the huge size of Total vs our cosy office, but also how friendly and welcoming Al was, with a huge smile!  It's safe to say that Al was always patient, I think I must've asked 'can you please define a TVR again' more times over the years than I should admit to.  Al was also always smart!  At a time when it was acceptable to be in t.shirt and jeans, Al would often be rocking a shirt and jeans and generally improving the appearance of our client meetings no end.

When Al came over to join us in our cosy MJ offices, I used to love that we'd often be in early together and chat cats and what we were watching at the time over making a drink in the morning.  Every Xmas do, you could guarantee that whoever had Al on the secret santa would go nuts on any 'TV' related item (see pics) - despite years of the same kind of thing, Al was always polite enough to smile and enjoy his gifts!

I have fond memories of many, many Fri nights after work (and a few lunchtimes) hanging out with a drink outside one of Charlotte St's many good pubs and chewing the cud with Al.  I distinctly remember chatting before Al's trip around the world, about how excited he was for the adventure ahead and how special Kate was to him and happy that she could meet him on the trip.  I was thrilled years later (there were definitely some shrieks of happiness in the office) when Al returned from safari with Kate and casually rocked in sporting a wedding band.  I was lucky enough to celebrate with Kate and Al at their wedding party.

Al was a pivotal person in the first 8 years of my media career, and a massive part of the family that was MJ for me.  Al you'll be so missed, thank you for all the support, patience and laughs.
