I met Al in 2010 when I joined MJ Media as a wide eyed Graduate. From day one he was so friendly and welcoming to me. He treated everyone of any level with such respect.
You always knew with Al that he genuinely cared, from noticing the silly little things like a new pair of shoes and giving you a compliment to the bigger things like checking in on how you’re doing and really listening to the answer. He was the kind of guy you knew was there if you ever needed some advice or a friendly ear.
When I sat next to him in our new office a few years ago he would share daily (and sometimes more frequently!) pictures with me of his Son Felix at home with Kate. He was a besotted Dad and you could tell they both meant the absolute world to him.
I’ve always felt so incredibly lucky to have landed in a company made up of such a lovely bunch of people. Al was a massive part of that and I feel very grateful to have worked with him for 10+ years and to have called him a friend.
