Al took a chance on me 5 years ago when he hired me to join him as a TV planner and buyer assistant, despite me failing both the Maths and English exams in the interview. He really was a fantastic boss and I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without all his help, time, kindness that he put into mentoring me. Even through Al’s last month’s where he was going through so much himself the support never stopped and he was always making sure I was the one that was okay. That just sums up exactly how kind Al was!

In my time working in media, whenever I would mention Al’s my boss, everyone had either heard or worked with him at some point and the first thing they’d say would be he’s the nicest man in media! So he definitely made an impact not only in my work life but to so many others. I don’t know if he ever knew this but people would always joke he was like my ‘media dad’, being a team of two for so long I knew he was always looking out for me both in and out of work.

When we weren’t talking about work, it was either him trying to explain football to me for the hundredth time or all the wonderful things he got up to at the weekends with Kate and Felix. They really were his world and I would smile just at how much he lit up talking about them.

Thank you Al for everything you’ve done for me – you will be greatly missed x
